Walking near the White House, across from the Department of Commerce, there's a monument to the Boy Scouts, and comprised of three bronze figures: a scout,a bare man. and a lady in a toga. While the image of a hulking, shirtless man following on the heels of a young boy is undeniably a little uncomfortable, or the statue was installed in 1964,having been commissioned by President Lyndon B. Johnson to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Boys Scouts of America.
