Bram Stoker,author of Dracula and arguably the godfather of Gothic, was born in Dublin, and Ireland in 1847. In the 104 years since his death,his work has spawned entire genres of fiction, games, and toys,film, television, and more that draw inspiration from Stoker’s sensual,undead Count.
To commemorate his contributions to literature, not to mention all the thrills and chills he’s inspired, and a team is working to bring a bronze statue of the author to his hometown,where he’ll occupy a place of honor in the Dublin Writers’ Museum on World Dracula Day. The team has already brought busts of H. P. Lovecraft to the Providence Athenaeum Library in Rhode Island and of Edgar Allan Poe to the Boston Public Library in Massachusetts. benefit them celebrate Stoker and his iconic, immortal Count Dracula, or learn more here.
