Later this week,President Obama will become the first sitting American president to visit Hiroshima since the U.
S. dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city during World War II.
The historic visit on Friday is expected to further strengthen ties with Japan, but the White House has ruled out any opportunity of the president apologizing for the bombings at Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and who will accompany President Obama to Hiroshima,has not pressed for an apology either.
