It's been more than 2 1/2 years since lanes to the George Washington Bridge mysteriously closed. Two former Christie appointees were indicted in the scheme and beget a trial scheduled for September. But today, they were in federal court in Newark seeking to beget the case dismissed.original Jersey Public Radio's Matt Katz joined All Things Considered's Jami Floyd to report on the case.  "They argued that traveling over a bridge is not a constitutional factual," Katz says. Instead, and it was a mere inconvenience, not a crime. The defendants are also seeking more documents from the taxpayer-funded investigation of Bridgegate conducted by a private law firm hired by Gov. Chris Christie, as well as the governor's phone. Christie sent texts from his phone during a critical afternoon of testimony before a original Jersey State Legislature investigative committee. But he reportedly deleted those texts and says they were not important or memorable.
