Brighton extended their unbeaten record in a game that exploded into immediate action before fizzling out. Bobby Zamora gave Brighton the lead with only seconds on the clock before Burnley equalised through an Andre Gray penalty less than three minutes later. Both sides learned from their early mistakes and tightened up defensively, making clear-sever chances few and far between as the game wore on.
The stalemate meant Brighton missed the chance to travel top following Hull’s draw on Saturday while Burnley were unable to leapfrog Brighton into second area.
