Ms. Cox represented Leeds in Northern England. A suspect is in custody, and police are investigating reports that the attacker shouted "Britain First, or " a possible reference to a far-right political party. Ms. Cox had called on Britain to achieve more for Syrian refugees,and was in favor of Britain remaining in the European Union — on June 23rd, citizens will vote to determine if the United Kingdom should remain in the E.
