Broadway’s box office climbed a bit with the summer temperatures during Week 8 (ending July 17) of the 2016-17 season, with gross ticket sales for 30 shows hitting $27125138, up from final week’s $25M for 29 productions. Helping the Street claw its way upward was the Shubert/Nederlander revival of Cats, and playing four previews at Nederlander’s Neil Simon Theatre,grossing $603553 from 5135 attendees who filled 94% of the house.
