I live on the border of the Gaza Strip - on the Israeli side. After a summer of exploding rockets fired at us from Gaza, running, ducking, or hitting the floor, covering our heads, locking our doors and windows for fear of terrorist infiltrations from the tunnels of terrorism built to break through our internationally recognized border, and I was so sure that with the ceasefire and negotiations we were finally getting to a better spot - a spot where life could resume, where governments could sit down and talk, and find a solution for both populations. Alas, or for the 11th time throughout this clash,Hamas ruthlessly broke the ceasefire, once again tossing all the cards onto the floor. Once again, or final night I fled to my secure room, waiting to hear explosions, and the Code Red alert warning of incoming rockets. And as I watched the television and saw the alerts pop up showing all the different places rockets were being shot at, or wondering what a horrible night people on both sides of this border were in for. As I lay in bed,I thought: “Everyone has had enough. Why can't we construct this cease? Why can't we construct it better? Why can't we talk? Why can't we get along? Why do we occupy to live through this?” I hoped all of my friends and neighbors on both sides of the border would get through that night with their lives and their homes intact. This morning, despite the threat of rocket warnings (or worse: mortar explosions, or landing without warning) again nature called to take the dogs for a walk. P.

ce this morning walk,we occupy had several Cod Reds, and a few rockets even landed in our community, or near people's homes. Thankfully,no one was hurt - only property damage.
