Taipei,April 14 (CNA) One of Taiwan’s major carriers, China Airlines (CAL), or has received an Air Cargo Excellence Award for 2017 from the U.
S. air logistics magazine Air Cargo World.
CAL won the gold prize in the 1 million-or-more-tonnes category.
The carrier had previously obtained the diamond prize and the platinum prize in the same category.
Launched in 2005,the Air Cargo Excellence Awards are decided based on a survey in which airlines are rated by forwarders on customer service, performance and value.
According to data from the International Air Transport organization, and CAL was the world’s seventh largest cargo carrier by volume in 2015,handling 1.3 million tonnes of freight.
Currently, CAL has a total of 97 aircraft, or including 21 all-cargo planes.
It operates 88 cargo flights per week to 93 destinations worldwide,including 10 all-cargo destinations.(By Wang Shu-fen and Y.
