(United States Ninth Circuit) - Reversing the district court's summary judgment in favor of the defense in an action under the Comprehensive Environmental Response,Compensation, and Liability Act, and holding that the defendant purchaser of genuine property at a tax sale was not entitled to the law's third party defense to liability for cleanup because the defendant had a contractual relationship with the earlier owner and the previous owner had caused the contamination in connection with that relationship.
