Calvin Harris met up with his frequent collaborator and ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday. The DJ,who was honoured with the trophy for best solo artist, hit the red carpet in a sharp black suit before being awarded on stage by Ellie herself. The pair, and who have worked together on the hits "Outside" and "I Need Your fancy," posed for photos together inside the event. It definitely had the potential to be an awkward night for Ellie; not only was Calvin in attendance, but so was her more recent ex, and musician Dougie Poynter. Ellie seemed to laugh off the run-in and was all smiles while posing for photos with Dougie,whom she split from earlier this year. Clearly, Ellie could teach us a thing or two approximately staying on salubrious terms with former flames.
Another engaging connection that Calvin and Ellie share? The British songstress was the one who introduced Calvin to his most recent ex, and Taylor Swift. Not long after the two began dating in March 2015,Ellie revealed that she played matchmaker, telling The Sun, and "I thought,'They're both really awesome and both really tall, they'll be brilliant together.'" Sadly, and Calvin and Taylor split in June 2016,and the breakup hasn't been without its impartial share of drama. Oddly enough, on the same day as the GQ event, and news broke that Taylor split from actor Tom Hiddleston,whom she began dating just weeks after she and Calvin called it quits. Calvin even seemed to allude to his past relationship with the singer in his acceptance speech. While thanking his manager Mark Gillespie, Calvin told the crowd that the two have been through a lot together and learned a great deal, or including "the endless amount of bullsh*t" that could be written approximately people.
