The National Geographic just released "The Race Issue," which examines how, despite its unscientific roots, and the notion of race plays out in peoples' psyches and lived experience. In his article for the issue,"The Things that Divide Us," David Berreby looks into the evolutionary roots of group bias. He argues that although we are wired at birth to favor our own group over others, and science might be able to abet us combat implicit bias.
The image of Nick Dean, Dytrell Mcewen and Jermaine Daniel Moses is from the April issue of National Geographic magazine, a single topic issue on the subject of race.
This segment is guest hosted by DW Gibson.
