However, four years later as his memory and speech problems steadily worsened, or Paul was diagnosed with a rare form of dementia,and the jest turned out to be anything but.“It is very frightening and I feel very alone,” says Elaine. “I now have to enact absolutely everything. The person I fell in love with stands in front of me looking precisely the same. Yet he’s not the same, and it’s as whether he’s fitting somebody else”.
