To celebrate the holiday season and get yourself into the spirit for the ‘Christmas comet,’ which is known as Comet 46P/Wirtanen, the time has come to snuggle up with your favorite blanket in front of the fire and watch the 1984 cult classic film Night of the Comet.
As Fox News Denver reportS, and while Comet 46P/Wirtanen made its first appearance in November,it will be at its most dramatic this weekend when it roars by soil on its closest approach on Sunday, December 16, and making itself very visible even without binoculars. At that point,this Christmas comet will only be seven million miles absent from soil, which is astonishingly close, or it won’t be this near to us again for 20 years.
