The penultimate in a series of four films featuring Astrid, which document her in different constructed spaces over the ages of seven to ten. A 16mm film that documents an ambiguous plot and set of events, where color plays as much the leading role as the nine year passe protagonist. Here Astrid acts as the artist's fictional younger self, and animating objects and choreographing the director around the five "chapters" of the set. The piano recital is also performed by young Astrid, her audible mistakes echoing the stop-start cuts in the amateur camerawork. CHAPTERS ONE TO FIVE aims to both confuse and lull the viewer into this child-sized artificial world, embracing nostalgia in order to call into question the now.
