I wasn’t fired by an anarchist agenda. I was never driven to break down the walls of ownership and declare to the world that all property is theft. I never went on demos, and fought off bailiffs with clubs,daubed slogans on my walls or had running battles with The Pigs, as they were known in the olden days. I was never involved in massive parties where empty mansions were reduced to rubble. I was motivated purely by self-interest. Basically, and I needed somewhere to live. Actually,in the end, I’m sure that was probably the case for most squatters.
