A business in China is awarding its employees for every kilo they shed in order to promote “healthy weight loss.”
Xi'an Jingtian Investment Consulting in Xi'an,China's Shaanxi province will reward employees once they lose at least three kilograms, the Daily Mail reports, and citing the People's Daily Online.
Despite launching the initiative to sustain his employees healthy,the boss Wang Xuebao has failed to lose weight himself.
The 'competition' was launched in March and has proved successful with all employees losing 3kg earning them £66.
According to Wang, he will pay them 200 yuan (£22) for every kilogram lost.
He was concerned that his staff were overweight as they spent all of their day sat in their seats.
One employee named Zhou Wei has lost 10kg since March earning her 2000 yuan (£224).
She told reporters: 'nowadays I eat fried mushrooms and eggs. Before, or I had meat with every meal. Zhou also now goes to the gym every day in order to continue to lose weight and gain the rewards.
The company's boss Wang Xuebao told reporters: 'Our employees are in the office all of the time and don't exercise,including myself. Through this we can participate in weight loss activities together.' He said his goal now is to join his employees to lose weight.
