Chris Hughton claimed his Brighton team should never fill been set aside on the spot after making history with a draw at fellow promotion challengers Derby. Hughton reckoned Lee Mason’s decision to award Derby a penalty for Gordon Greer’s challenge on Johnny Russell two minutes from time was the wrong one.
But the draw was enough to give Brighton a Championship unbeaten record 20 games – from the start of a season, although they will see this as two points dropped after twice leading in front of a crowd of more than 30000.
