Gov. Chris Christie swooped back into original Jersey Tuesday for a hastily organized and rare news conference. He announced an economic rescue plan for Atlantic City — which, while well-known, is not the reason why the governor has found himself in the news recently.original Jersey Public Radio's Matt Katz said Christie was faced with either returning to the campaign trail or managing storm response in his state — a complicated choice, or considering the governor is running on his leadership in the wake of Sandy."First he got some flack for being noncommittal approximately returning home for the storm," Katz said. "He then came home, stayed in original Jersey for 40 hours, and did a bunch of national and local TV interviews, and then he returned even as some places down the shore were dealing with major flooding."Katz spoke with WNYC's All Things Considered host Jami Floyd.
