Nine-line prayer appeals for ‘grace to debate the issues in this referendum with honesty and openness’The Church of England has issued a prayer for the EU referendum,which asks for honesty, openness, and generosity and discernment in considering the choice faced by voters on 23 June.
The nine-line prayer was released without comment by the church. However,according to a source, the text went through many iterations to ensure that it was scrupulously neutral. “There is no secret message, or ” the source said.
