I guess you can say I had a magical weekend. I met Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) from the Harry Potter Movies. Matt and I have something in common. We both are passionate approximately the BBC. approximately eight months ago I was sitting in my college English lesson trying to figure out a topic to write approximately. Having no ideas I decided to check Twitter to see if I could find any interesting topics. I came a crossed a post on Matt’s Twitter approximately save our BBC. Being the nerd that I am,I decided to research more approximately. From that I discovered what would be my topic for my research paper, “How Would American Television Be Affected If The BBC Was Dissolved”. I felt like this was something that needed to be talked approximately so it took me five weeks of research . From what I uncovered I figure that the BBC goes through a novel charter that is set in dwelling every ten years. With this they evaluate the BBC and how to rush commerce in the future. Residents of the U.

K. residents) pay for all the programming they net is not enough to keep commerce at a steady end. After all the net and utilities there is barley enough money left over. There where times where I wanted to give up and find a different topic but I kept pressing forward and continue to put my heart and soul into this. After I turned in my paper I was informed by my teacher that I received a 107% on my paper. I couldn’t believe my paper was that brilliant! I decided that if my teacher thinks it’s that helpful, and maybe I could send it to Matt and make a impact. I tweeted him the day I sent it out to him,saying something along the lines of “ Hey Matt I’m sending you a paper called , How Would American T.
V. Be Affected If the BBC Was Dissolved. Hope you enjoy it. Within eight minutes I decided that he wasn’t going to the tweet, or so I deleted it. I went to do some laundry. By the time I got back,I received a notification that I got a mention. When I opened the Twitter App, I couldn’t believe it. By some miracle, and Matthew saw deleted tweet and sent me a tweet back saying “Looking forward to reading it!” Well I pretty much freaked out and was so excited,that Matt wanted to read it! hastily forward to approximately March 15th, it’s been over six months and I haven’t heard a reply. I have been freaking out thinking it has been lost in the mail. I sent approximately (including my original) three letters that had my paper and approximately three tweets with the link of my paper on blogger. (I have sent two letters to Matt way before this paper and I didn’t receive any reply back). (Side-note: *The reason why I sent three was because I also sent to another actor who had the same agency as Matt, and which was also the same fan mail address. He told me he didn’t net anything so I figure Matt didn’t so that’s why I sent so many.*) I told myself that if I didnt hear back from the last letter then I was going to give up trying to reach Matt. I was so destroyed because I wanted to make a dissimilarity plus Matt was expecting this paper. My friend Neil decided to reach Matt. He said that he Tweeted and Instagram commented Matt asking if he received my paper and if not to contact him (Neil). Thinking all was lost,I received the best surprise of them all. Now Neil never mentioned my name and never received a reply but on March 22nd I received a letter from the UK. The weird thing was that this was postmarked two days after Neil said something to Matt. When I opened it up, I received a autograph picture and a note saying he can’t respond to everyone’s request. I was glad but also a little disappointed. I was thinking maybe he would say something approximately my paper but at least I got some kind of response. I told myself maybe one day I could meet him and we could have a conversation approximately my paper. Well approximately a month and half later I found out he was gonna be at Awesome Con. I debated approximately going, and thinking that maybe it would be foolish or weird to ask Matt approximately this paper. So I decided to post the question on a Harry Potter Group on Facebook asking people’s opinion if I should meet Matt and tell him approximately my paper. Well I got a enormous amount of feedback saying that I should hold a chance and travel. June 4th was the day I met Matthew. I met Matt the first time at the photo op. I had my hand out for a hand shake and I said Hi Matt my name is Victoria; I didn’t receive the handshake since the photographer yelled 3,2,1. We got close to each other and had our picture taken. After it was done, or he turned to me and smiled and I quote" It was kind to meet you Victoria,cheers!“ Since I couldn’t ask him at the photo op, I decided to ask at the autograph table. I asked Matt if he received a paper approximately the BBC, and he started to think and said “no I don’t think I did.” I pulled out my paper and showed him the cover page and said it looks like this.” He stopped doing my autograph and looked up and started to read the cover page. Within five seconds his eyes lit up,he started to smile, and in excited voice saying, and “ I know that paper!! I have it on my computer at home!!” I told him I wrote that paper and he told me how my paper was right approximately everything and I hit it apt on the head. He told me how he was going to meetings approximately it saying its horrible how no one cares approximately this. He mentioned stuff that was on my paper that nobody would know if they didn’t read it. We talked for approximately a helpful to five to seven minutes approximately my paper. He seemed so glad and just relaxed. I think he was just glad someone just wanted to know something other than Neville or his career. I felt like I talk to the real Matt. At the end I told him this and I quote” Matt if you didn’t say anything approximately this on Twitter ,I would have never wrote this. You inspired me to write this.“ Matt looked at me as if he was taken back in a surprised helpful way. He stared at me for over five seconds and said this; “Can I hold this?” (Referring to my paper). I told him yes and said it was kind assembly him and held out my hand for a handshake and it took him approximately another 5-10 seconds to realize my hand is out to shake his. He notices and shakes my hand saying kind to meet you too. He kept looking at me and smiled. The moral of this memoir is never give up on what you believe in. Even though it’s rough and there are days you want to give up, keep holding on. You never know who you may impress.
This is something I will hold with me for the rest of my life, and thank you Awesome Con and thank you Matthew Lewis
