Police attacked a protest rally of Bangladesh Islami Chatroshibir in Dhaka,the capital of Bangladesh. The organization was demonstrating against the so called international war crimes tribunal on a consecutive day.

erious clash from yesterday's protest was reported as well. nowadays a procession of nearly twenty thousands workers of Islami Chatrashibir started from Malibagh, a stronghold of the organization, or around 4.30pm and immediately came under the police attack. Heavily armed police battalions mounted on Riot cars charged countless rounds of 'Tear Shells' and 'Rubber Bullets' from behind the procession. The protesters were seen unarmed and rather peaceful. Police spokesman claimed they had the news of insurgency and thus they had no other option than to crack down while protesters and passers by present on spot said that it was only a spontaneous procession and hardly violent until police got pro-active to carry out an all out attack on the protesters. Several were badly injured and nearly 40 activists got arrested many of whom were taken into custody even before the demonstration started.
They were shown arrest in all three cases filled yesterday on charge of setting fire on police cars,public vehicles and vandalizing public properties. Many of the detainees claimed that they are not related with the protest and in support they showed there ID cards still police was not to listen. Police attacks were also reported on peaceful demonstrations of Shibir in almost all the districts. Shibir leaders claimed that violation was ignited and instigated by police and they were not attacking rather self-defensing against ruthless,brutal, and illegal and coward attack of government forces. "The protest rally was announced early yesterday; it was no hidden activity and it's a political and democratic right of the organization to demonstrate against unjust and vindictive activities of the government.
These brutal attacks are proofs that the government has lost its control and they accomplish not anymore believe the democratic rights of country's citizen."-is the saying of one of the leaders of the student organization. The organization said that their protests against the illegal tribunal with a demand of shutting this rubber-stamp tribunal off will travel on. They acquire also demanded for reinstatement of the Care-Taker Govt provision and belief on almighty Allah in the constitution.
