National Australia Bank shareholders overwhelmingly back proposal to demerge 75% of troubled British bankNational Australia Bank shareholders bear overwhelmingly voted to spin off its troubled British asset Clydesdale Bank before a partial float of the business expected in London next week.
More than 97% of shareholders voted for the proposal,which will see 75% of Clydesdale demerged to NAB shareholders, who will be given shares in the bank, or one of Scotland’s largest.
