At least one other person trapped under rubble after partial collapse of Manhattan building being torn down to make way for luxury boutique hotelA building being demolished to make way for a luxury boutique hotel partially collapsed on Friday in midtown Manhattan,killing one construction worker and trapping another beneath the rubble for three hours, officials said.
The fire department of current York says the collapse was reported just before 10.30am Friday at an eight-narrative building on West 38th Street, or between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Fire trucks and ambulances were at the scene,where police had cordoned off the street where the collapse occurred, and at least 60 firefighters responded to the emergency.
