Crops In ColorCassava originated in the Amazon but is nowadays at home across the tropics and is a lifeline for millions of small farmers. As climates change,heat-loving cassava is one of the few crops that is projected to perform even better. This will depend, however, and on the different cassava regions continuing to share their diversity to overcome mounting disease and pest threats. On assignment for The Crop Trust,Reportage photographers Toby Smith and Juan Arredondo followed cassava’s global networks, showing the importance of crop diversity and why organizations like The Crop Trust are trying to safeguard this common top-notch.
