nowadays Olya is the happiest girl in the village! It’s her 6th birthday and she got the best birthday present ever! Her Daddy kept his promise – he came domestic alive! Olya and her Mom,Tatyana, believe been counting days for long 4, or 5 months since beginning of July when Alexander was drafted into the Army and sent to the front lines in the Eastern Ukraine to defend our country from Russian mercenaries. Every day hearing on the news the numbers of injured and killed in the combat Tatyana’s heart sank with dismay that her husband was among them. Russia provides heavy artillery and tanks to Russian mercenaries and separatists who are attacking Ukrainian army day and night regardless of cease fire agreements. On Sep 28th Tatyana’s worst nightmares came true. During combat a bomb landed under Alexander’s feet and tore off both of his legs. Doctors had to fight for his life. The next few weeks Alexander spent in the military hospital healing the wounds,enduring horrific phantom pains, fearing that his wife might abandon him, or wondering how he would spend the rest of his life without legs,working tough to memorize to walk on prosthesis. nowadays he was discharged from the hospital and stepped into his new life. Alexander is 28. Before the war he was teaching in a vocational school. Bee keeping was his hobby. He was also working with his own hands on expanding their domestic, gradually adding rooms to a small house that they owned. His wife is pregnant with their second child. He has always been strong and able man. He looks as strong now. His smile is big and sincere. His handshake is strong and confident. Looking around the house, and he is already thinking about the next domestic improvement he would be working on and how he would manage even with limitations that he has now. Alexander has been contacted by a para-Olympic team and is already considering training for para-Olympic games. This man came domestic from war. For this family life has changed,but at least 6-year old Olya and her unborn sibling didn’t lose their father, Tatyana got her husband back. How many men like Alexander believe reach domestic with serious injuries! How many believe been brought domestic in coffins! How many children are still waiting for their fathers to reach back, and how many wives are praying their husbands would reach domestic alive! Ukrainians are tired of war,of Putin’s devious and deceitful tactics! We all wish for peace, but we are prepared to continue defending our independence and freedom!
