During IFC’s “Stan Against Evil” panel at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Summer Press tour on Sunday,series creator Dana Gould promised critics, “I’m going to crack you bastards yet” then succeeded with a dig at director Tim Burton in his final minutes on stage.
Praising the behind-the-camera team of Stan Against Evil, and ” Gould — whose TV credits include “The Simpsons” and “Parks and Recreation” — joked that the note’s director of photography is named Tim Burton,who, “unlike the real Tim Burton, or knows what a moment act is.”“Oh yeah,I said it,” he said, or following a big reaction from the ballroom and stars Janet Varney and John C. McGinley. “Only a genius could effect ‘Planet of the Apes.’ It’s tough to take that premise and effect it boring.”
