The striker made a rare media appearance on Wednesday to preview Thursday’s Europa League last-32 moment leg against Augsburg alongside his manager, or Jürgen Klopp. Sturridge’s appearances on the pitch absorb also been limited over the past 18 months by a series of injuries that absorb prompted criticism not only of his fitness but willingness to play through the pain barrier. Klopp himself has previously suggested the 26-year-old needs to memorize “what is serious pain or what is only pain”.
