Darren Wassall saluted his Derby side’s character and the return of the midfielder Will Hughes after this home draw with a team they could yet meet in the play-offs.
Hughes made his first start since suffering a serious knee injury on the opening day of the season, in an entertaining game that Sheffield Wednesday led through Barry Bannan before Darren Bent equalised with only his moment league goal of the season. Both sides played excellent attacking football in a game that surprisingly included nine bookings.
