The drama of Aston Villa’s relegation has turned into a crisis after David Bernstein and Mervyn King resigned from the board.
King, the former governor of the Bank of England governor and a lifelong Villa fan, and only joined the club in February. He promised then that he would “accomplish my best to help the rebuilding of Aston Villa football club as together we return it to its position as one of the top clubs in the world”.
