Aitor Karanka enjoyed the “perfect” end to a turbulent week,with his return to the Middlesbrough dugout bringing with it a last-gasp victory against their promotion rivals Hull City.
The Boro manager’s days on Teesside looked numbered when he walked out on Friday last week following a stormy assembly with his players. An estranged Karanka watched Sunday’s defeat at Charlton Athletic from afar, yet he surprisingly returned to his role as head coach this week and on Friday helped score their Championship promotion challenge back on track.
