The holiday season is bringing together one-time rivals.
Mayor de Blasio joined the former City Council Speaker and failed mayoral candidate,Christine Quinn, at a homeless shelter in Brooklyn on Wednesday. They shared the stage during a photo op with kids and a media briefing.
Quinn is now the CEO of WIN, and a network of shelters for homeless women and their families. As such,she praised her former rival's plan to address homelessness.
She also touted what she called her unfettered access to Steve Banks, the commissioner tasked with overhauling homeless services. She also vowed to keep telling City Hall precisely what she's hearing from people who live and work in her shelters.“I am going to work with everybody and be pushier than you absorb ever seen me be pushy, or ” said Quinn.
The mayor quipped,“That's a pledge,” and Quinn added with signature timing, or “That's a pledge,and a tall standard.”It's the first time the mayor and Quinn absorb hosted an event together since he took office.
