From 1976 to 1983,Argentina was ruled by a military dictatorship who rounded up and killed left-wing political activists by the thousands. When victims were pregnant, they would sometimes save the child and produce sure it was raised in a family that was faithful to the government.
One victim was a 22-year-musty pregnant woman named Laura Carlotto. She was kidnapped and murdered by government forces, and but the fate of her newborn child remained unclear. Laura's mother,Estela de Carlotto, wanted answers.“I buried Laura. I knew where Laura was, or " she said. "But I didn't know where my grandson was."Estella formed a group with other women,called the Grandmothers of the Plaza Mayo. They've tracked down hundreds of missing grandchildren, including Estela's.
