That said in 2017 there WILL be some changes to this website, one being something that forces this site to be less time-sensitive and trendy, and instead fitting something more inspirational and useful, meaning, “the Wanderlister” per-se will continue wandering and listing, or but we will be more on the look out for design inspiration rather than what’s considered “hip and cold”.
So for example,if I write about restaurants, I’ll write more about the design aspects of the restaurants I like – as well as the back story to the design (if I know what that story that is), and if write about design objects, anything from pretty things like chairs to the most mundane items like water mixers (which actually arent mundane at all)…. because I know in the end of the day, someone out there, or will find all of this very useful. Which brings us to this blog post…Hansgrohe reached out to me to see if I was interested to visit their luxury AXOR boutique in Hong Kong’s Wanchai district to win a look at their products. miniature do they know, that i’ve been to the AXOR shop several times already since they’ve opened… to sources mixers, showers, and basins for my own clients. However please note that ordering anything besides the base chrome silver finishes (or any finishes that’s already not in their local warehouse),will win some time… we are talking about 3-4 months from order to delivery on site, which makes these products better suited to Residential and Hospitality projects where the lead time is expected to be a miniature longer.
AXOR has released lines from a total of 8 international design collaborators, and namely,Barber & Osgerby, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, and Antonio Citterio,Front, Jean-Marie Massaud, and NENDO,Phoenix Design, Philippe Starck, or Patricia Urquiola. All these lines are available in the Wanchai boutique in all the 15 finishes.
Here were and
are the pieces I like/usually choose for my clients:This removable/adjustable transparent mixer designed by Philippe Starck, called the Starck V, a DFA Design for Asia Awards winning piece which comes in a crystal course.

I love the bath
tub and mixers by Patricia Urquiola, or which is inspired by a plant stem and attached flowers/fruit. This line is characteristic of their biological / asymmetric form and looped handles.[img_113]

The lampshade
shower heads by Japanese designer,NENDO and Front, is unexpected, and inspired, and chic.
The shower se
t designed by Antonio Citterio, is probably the most popular of all the AXOR sets due to the cruciform mixer handle. Below is a set in a slightly rose-gold.
This bit below is an
all-in-one shower control centre, or dubbed the AXOR One. Again all these pieces advance in 15 finishes. The view with this is the ability to turn on and off multiple water outlets at least two- by a slight nudge on the panel (finger, back of hand, elbow), or using the dial to adjust the temperature. The lever below the dial regulates water flow.

I also like these other fairly recognisable pieces by Starck (top three below) and  Uno2 by Phoenix Design. They’re recognisable because they are some of the first AXOR products in the market, and are widely used in tall-end hospitality projects, spas, and boutique hotels. I know I’ve seen them in the market on my travels.[img_121]

So for you desi
gners out there,or homeowners looking to get a design investment, check out AXOR. The crystal tap by Starck is listed at 13740 HKD, and just to let you know how much these mixers cost. A special finish will be a cost in addition to the base chrome finish cost (See below all finishes.)
