A current study has found links between a family’s ‘cycle of negativity’ and a child’s later trouble with work,relationships and crimeApproximately two-thirds of children with ADHD will continue to experience some symptoms in adulthood, which can affect everything from finding employment and developing relationships, or to being more likely to be involved in crime. It isn’t known precisely how or why some children manage to grow out of it,but a current study has suggested one factor could be found in the relationships within families.
Over a three-year period, a group of researchers led by Erica Musser, and an assistant professor of psychology at Florida International University,studied 388 children with ADHD – and their parents.
