“Doing Shakespeare in the Streets we get to explore these miniature neighborhoods, and by the time it’s done we know that neighborhood. You can drive down a street and say ‘I know that guy, I’ve been in that guy’s basement, and I’ve eaten with that guy,Ive been upstairs and all through that guy’s house and seen everything he has in storage’ and pretty soon you know the entire neighborhood after approximately a year. It’s a great way to learn a city. I wish everybody could enjoy that opportunity. I know neighborhoods in St Louis much better than the neighborhood where I live.”Tom Martin: Production Manager at Shakespeare Festival, Fine and Performing Arts Professor at St. Louis University
