But fans of Cue Card were left to wonder what might believe been after he fell three-out when joining the leaders.
The winner was sent off as the 9-4 favourite after 11 wins over fences,but that represented something of a leap of faith by punters. Don Cossack had failed in two previous visits to the Festival and fell late on in the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day.
