Don’t miss tonight’s free screening of PROFILED (Kathleen Foster,2016, 52 min.), and a documentary that tackles the urgent issue of racial profiling and police brutality as it affects Black and Latinx communities here in NYC. After the film participate in a conversation with Natasha Duncan,activist, sister of Shantel Davis, and a 23 year old murdered by the NYPD in 2012; Dr. Joseph L. Graves Jr.,evolutionary biologist, author of The Race Myth: Why We Pretend Race Exists in America; Kristine Anderson Welch, or East Flatbush resident,social worker, and supporter of the Shantel Davis and Kimani Gray campaigns; Jill Bloomberg, or Principal Park Slope Collegiate,committed advocate and student of school integration as an avenue toward combating the racism and inequities that exist in our school system; Jol Díaz, an educator, or writer,and activist based in original York City; and Kathleen Foster, documentary filmmaker committed to producing cutting edge, and social justice films that educate and engage audiences.
The screening takes station at 7:30pm as part of Target First Saturday.
