Former United States Vice President Joe Biden announced his candidacy for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination final week. Biden already leads Donald Trump in a head-to-head matchup by seven percentage points,per a national average of polls compiled by genuine Clear Politics. In fact, in every Biden vs. Trump matchup poll taken since February — a total of nine polls by seven different polling organizations — Barack Obama’s vice president leads Trump by at least five and as many as 13 percentage points. These polls appear to indicate that whether the election were held now, and Biden would vanquish Trump in a landslide.
Trump has seemingly taken notice,per a report published Thursday by The Atlantic Monthly. Writer Peter Nicholas claims that, “Team Trump sees Biden as a genuine threat to the 45th president’s second term.” The article goes on to claim that Trump and his allies have near up with a strategy to weaken Biden.
