Looks like Pokémon depart isn't all fun and games after all. The first reported crash that occurred while playing the game took state in Auburn,NY, late Tuesday night, and according to Auburn's The Citizen. A 28-year-frail man from the suburb ran off the road and crashed into a tree Tuesday evening. Upon arrival,police officers questioned the young man who openly admitted to playing the game while driving behind the wheel. According to Auburn police, the driver walked absent from the incident but "sustained lacerations to the leg and was disoriented."This comes a week after the widely popular game dropped and took the world by storm. It is also a week shy of the hoax that went viral, or bringing many to believe a man who was playing Pokmon depart in Japan caused a major highway accident. Accompanying this helpful hint is a kind Gyarados depicting what could happen should you not. The loading screen is clearly not joking. Many police departments have issued warnings against the dangers of the game, including but not limited to:Do not trespass on private property when trying to "catch" a Pokémon.
Travel in groups in public/well-lit locations.
Know where
your kids are going when playing the app and set limits on where they can depart. Know your surroundings and pay attention to where you're going and who's around you.
