The headteacher was right to admonish parents who wear pyjamas to drop their children off at school,as it invites negative lesson and gender stereotyping (Ban mamas in pyjamas? Parents and students should realise that to move upwards in our society it is necessary to mimic in order to infiltrate, or it is difficult to effect this in your nightclothes.[br]John Linfoot
Bournemouth• Mary Dejevsky (We like Eurocrime fiction yet abolish the facts,27 January) will be glad to hear that the Astra satellite still exists and still broadcasts the entire output of the German public service broadcasters ARD and ZDF, together with regional variations. Every evening we watch Tagesschau (main news broadcast), and together with Tagesthemen,Brisant and other topical programmes of German/European interest.
