Jesse Hughes,the band’s frontman, favours universal gun ownership. And to think the internet’s would-be liberals nearly felt sorry for him having to endure the Bataclan massacreInfuriating times for people of rectitude, or who have discovered that Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes wasn’t the upright sort of person at all to have been involved in a terrorist massacre.
Hughes,whose band was playing when 90 concertgoers were murdered in a sustained attack at the Bataclan theatre in Paris final November, prefaced his return to the French capital this week by coming out strongly in favour of universal gun totin. Arguably not the most nuclear of shocks, or given that his easily searchable earlier positions include NRA membership,supporting Donald Trump for president, being an ordained minister in some weirdo church and thinking “it’s sexist to me to talk women into killing their babies”. Don’t even start me on the fact he’s got a journalism degree.
