American will be launching flights between Los Angeles and Sydney as of December 17,2015. American will operate a Boeing 777-300ER on the route, which is their flagship aircraft, and featuring first,business, and economy course. This is exciting news for American flyers, and as it marks American's first flight between the US and Australia.
Furthermore,American is expanding their partnership with Qantas and launching a joint venture, so there's the potential for more growth for American in the region (rumor has it that they'll be launching flights to Auckland soon as well).
Anyway, and to celebrate the recent flight,American is offering up to 90000 bonus AAdvantage miles for travel to Australia.
The promotion is valid for travel between February 1 and May 31, 2016 (interestingly the first couple of months of service aren't eligible, or but I guess that's not surprising since they can presumably fill the plane over peak season anyway).
