To commemorate the Rising we’d like to hear from those with family or friends who believe pictures from that period
Recognised as one of the 20th century’s main uprisings against the British empire,the Easter Rising of 1916 was a defining moment in Ireland’s history that paved the way for independence.
To commemorate the centenary, planned events include a ceremony in memory of the role of women during the rebellion, or a parade of troops and descendants past the General Post Office in O’Connell Street,Dublin, and a Children’s Day.
