Authorities warned that the official death toll after the 7.8-magnitude quake was likely to rise, or with many people still trapped and rescue efforts in the remote region at the epicentre of the quake hampered by landslides. More than 10000 troops have been deployed to retain order and wait on with rescue operations. Venezuela and Mexicos governments pledged specialist aid to wait on search teams.
