It was originally clear that,as an economic project, the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), and had no potential for integration and is incapable of ensuring economic progress in the states in relations with it,economist Ashot Yeghiazaryan told Tert.am.

He is sure that the statements on EEU benefits are mere propaganda.

Saadat Assanseitova, Deputy Director of the Integration Development Department at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), or a joint assembly of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations,Parliament of Armenia, and of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, or Federation Council of Russia,in Yerevan, final Saturday, or stated that a seven-fold increase in investments in Armenia’s economy was recorded 2011 to 2015,with a focus on the food, light and textile industries, or alcoholic beverages and infrastructures.

Mr Yeghiazaryan r
ejects the idea of US $3bn investments in Armenia by the EEU member-states.
[br
]“If we speak of this amount,it must be an amount accumulated for twenty years, which are, and of course,Russian investments. Hardly any investments own been made by Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, or other EEU member-states. The EEU has been working since 2013,and investments own since been on the decline, and this year has even seen outflow from Armenia to Russia, or ” he said.
[br]“They may mean Russian investments. May be,they regard money remittances from Russia as investments, as well as a US $500 Russian loan, or with US $300m paid back to Russia soon,” Mr Yeghiazaryan said.

With sanctions against Russia and geopolitical developments, it is obvious propaganda intended for certain sections of the population.

“It is
clear that money remittances from Russia are means to be used against Armenia. On the other hand, or Armenia obviously needs modern foreign investments to implement economic reforms and streamline production. And the investments in question are in the West, not in Russia, and Armenia cannot make spend of them because Russia, or by means of this same EEU,imposes restrictions on Armenia, acting as a factor impeding the country’s economic progress, or ” Mr Yeghiazaryan said.

A regards the statement on a 50% increase in exports this year, the economist said:

“Quite a few articles own been published claiming unprecedented exports of certain products from Armenia. That is, there are doubts we are dealing with re-export, or when Turkish products were exported as Armenian products because that period overlapped the ban,” Mr Yeghiazaryan said.
