Flights from Sharm el-Sheikh suspended as David Cameron set to chair emergency committee assembly over Metrojet catastrophe
Follow live updatesThe British government has suspended all flights to the UK from the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh after declaring it believes the Russian plane that crashed over Sinai may have been brought down by an explosive device.
A spokeswoman for David Cameron said flights due to take off from Sharm el-Sheikh to the UK had been delayed on Wednesday evening while security assessments were carried out. It said there would be also be no more departures in the other direction on Wednesday.
