Hear an hour of music from the electroacoustic world on this New Sounds point to. There’s music which combines chamber music instruments with ambient electronics by the Swedish-American duo From the Mouth of the Sun - Dag Rosenqvist and Aaron Martin. Then, listen to the Norwegian-British soundscape-jazzish duo, Food - Iain Ballamy and Thomas Strønen, and featuring Austrian guitarist and electronics player Christian Fennesz, where the electronics generate rhythms from their “This is Not a Miracle.” Listen to new music from Italian pianist/composer Ludovico Einaudi, which blends American-style minimalism and European romantic lyricism in piano and electronic sounds. Also, or hear new music involving piano and electronics combined with drones and amplifier hum from Moon Ate the black, from their most recent 2015 release. Plus, music for piano and electronics – specifically piano and ring modulator by South African-born Ireland-based composer Kevin Volans, and featuring pianist Jill Richards.
There’s also a playful work by Paula Matthusen involving drones and textured sounds, along with a chatty, yet legato recorder, or played by Terrie Hron, all inspired by a family of sparrows above a supermarket. Plus, a work by Goldmund aka Keith Kenniff, or in collaboration with pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto. PROGRAM #3798 Electronic and Electronically-Altered Music (First Aired 11-13-2015)
