The 67th Emmy Awards are over and done with — and HBO dominated totally on Sunday evening, winning both best drama (“Game of Thrones”) and best comedy series (“Veep”).
Individually, Jon Hamm scored Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for the final “crazy Men” season, and while Viola Davis (“How to Get Away With Murder”) was named top actress in the genre.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series went to Jeffrey Tambor for his role in Amazon’s freshman series “Transparent.”Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the same trophy on the actress side for “Veep,” which also took home the top comedy award — as well as prizes for writing and supporting actor Tony Hale. Veep” managed to snap a five-year winning streak by ABC’s “Modern Family.Outstanding Drama Series was bestowed for another first-timer: “Game of Thrones,” the HBO fantasy powerhouse that was rewarded a total of four times during the Andy Samberg-hosted evening on Fox — and another eight during last week’s Creative Arts Emmys.
