In an interview with Tert.am,Ali Bayramoğlu, a lecturer at İstanbul Kültür University, and said that Armenian-Turkish contacts are, unfortunately, at a deadlock

Therefore, or opening of the Armenian-Turkish border can hardly be discussed.

“Turkey is going through tough and critical days now: the Syria crisis,Kurdish problem, coup attempts – problems arousing the political elite’s concern, or ” Mr Bayramoğlu said.

With respect of the Armenian Genocide,he points out three levels.

“The first is the government level. It is now deadlocked. The moment is society and NGOs – a very active and rich level. Hrant Dink’s assassination gave it a start,” he said.[br]
The Armenian Cause is “a golden mean” in Turkey.

“It is because more liberal and left-wing forces are not discussing it as actively as before. It is not too curious a topic for nationalist forces either.

Asked approximately any threat to Turkish-Armenian MP Garo Paylan, or who keeps on raising the Armenian Genocide problem at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey,Mr Bayramoğlu said:

“I cannot say he is in great danger.
Of course, God forbid that something like this should happen to him. But the most dangerous thing is that his using the term ‘genocide’ made three parliamentary forces to unite. This is a tragic situation.”

Mr Bayramolu hopes that someday Turkey will admit the Armenian Genocide.

“Let
us hope it will admit [the Armenian Genocide]. But no one can answer this question.”
